Indian driver Vaidyanathan emerged fastest from today´s Winter Series testing in his Carlin-entered Dallara ahead of Florescu (Campos) and Troitskiy (Drivex)
The Winter Series kicked off with an exciting first day at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Six teams are taking part at the curtain raiser event providing a field with a perfect mix of talent and youth. Plenty of new faces in the paddock but expectations for another thrilling season didn´t change.
Campos Racing has fielded its four-car armada for full-season drivers Petru Florescu, Matheus Iorio and Thiago Vivacqua and newcomer Marta García.
Then, Drivex is carrying out the two-day test with Russia´s Nikita Troitskiy and Brazil´s Christian Hahn, they both previously announced to contest the Euroformula Open under the Madrid-based squad banner.
Carlin is another team with a two-car effort in Barcelona, as Canada´s Devlin DeFrancesco was joined by India´s Ameya Vaidyanathan.
Similarly, another British outfit, Fortec, is attending Euroformula Open´s Winter Series with German Jannes Fittje and Mexican Alfonso Celis Jr.
Teo Martín Motorsport is also taking part with their strong duo of young aces: Spain´s Eliseo Martínez and Brazil´s Pedro Cardoso.
Finally, from Italy, BVM Racing is testing with Daniil Pronenko at the wheel of its Dallara F312.
Today´s four sessions took place on a warm, sunny day. Troitskiy took P1 in first session and with his Drivex Dallara topped session 3 once again, with Florescu emerging fastest in the second one. But, at the end of the day, Vaidyanathan set overall fastest practice time with his 1:39.074 on Friday´s fourth session. Florescu took 2nd spot and first rookie ahead of Troitskiy. Then, Vivacqua and Martínez rounded off the top-five.
